On April 19th, the Town of Clintwood unveiled a fresh street sign to rename Chestnut Street as Doc Alderman Way, in memory of Dr. Kurtz Alderman who passed away in January. Dr. Alderman served the community in multiple capacities for over 50 years, including as a practicing physician, Kiwanis Club member, coroner, and Clintwood High School football team doctor. Mayor Baker guided the renaming process and stated that the “Doc Alderman way” was worthy of recognition by the town. The Clintwood Public Works Department quickly removed the old sign and replaced it with the new one. Three addresses were affected by the renaming.
